SERVICES
The Bermuda Sailing Association (BSA) provides a wide range of services to support sailors at every level. As the official National Governing Body for sailing in Bermuda, the BSA is responsible for administering the sport, a role that includes duties delegated by international bodies like World Sailing and local authorities such as the Government of Bermuda and the Bermuda Olympic Association.
These services range from managing sailor and coach registrations and certifications to overseeing the rules and regulations that govern sailing competitions. The BSA also plays a key role in promoting water safety, coordinating with government agencies to ensure safe practices on the water for all participants. Additionally, the BSA represents Bermuda’s sailing community at international events, working with the Bermuda Olympic Association to support elite athletes as they compete on the global stage.

Sail numbers must be requested from BSA for classes that do not assign sail numbers in their class rules.

RACE OFFICIALS STANDARDS – Judge & Umpire
The BSA provides a structured qualification program for Judges and Umpires, offering guidance and arranging mentoring to help them progress to National Judge or National Umpire status and beyond. All officials must be members of the BSA.
RACE OFFICIALS STANDARDS – RACE MANAGEMENT
The BSA offers a structured training program for race officials, leading to National Race Officer (NRO) status. This scheme allows officials to progress from Club Race Officer to NRO. All race officials must be members of the BSA.
